Peter’s Art Gallery
Sitting in the hills of Lake Oswego, this homeowner/art collector wanted to revamp the use of space in part of his kitchen and adjoining family room for his most prized collection. We were mesmerized by the number of hand-made Japanese woven bamboo baskets our client had acquired from his travels. He tasked us with creating display space that while beautiful in its own right would not take away from his true show stoppers. After removing some outdated kitchen cabinetry and countertops, we added a wall to further define the space and went to work on the master plan. We covered up a fireplace (at the clients’ request) and removed an awkward and repetitive door to the garage along that same wall. We then turned to our 3-D modeling software and designed the coolest set of custom shelves we’d ever seen. With the remarkable craftsmanship of the folks at FOIL Studio, our clients’ dream became reality through the use of both quarter-sawn and flat-sawn mahogany in a natural stain. After a few precisely placed display lights the masterpiece was complete. But don’t take our word for it, see it for yourself…
